Morenci Turquoise Inlay Earrings - by Tommy Jackson

Morenci Turquoise & Sterling Silver Inlay Earrings by Tommy Jackson

This exquisite pair of earrings features Morenci Turquoise with a silver inlay running through them. Morenci turquoise is known for its "true blue" color with what looks like silver running through it, but is actually pyrite or "fool's gold." This fool's gold goes perfectly with the sterling silver inlay. This pair of earrings is stunning and will be a great addition to your jewelry collection.

nternationally known Navajo (Diné) jewelry designer Tommy Jackson, from Chinle, Arizona, learned the art of silversmithing from his parents, Martha and Gene Jackson. He is known for merging traditional Navajo designs with modern-day aesthetics in his dynamic jewelry.

Morenci Turquoise comes from Southeastern Arizona, close to the New Mexico border. Perhaps its most unique feature is the pyrite matrix which runs through the stone. Pyrite, most commonly referred to as Fool's Gold, is a metallic mineral which winds its way through Morenci cabochons. When the stone is polished, the pyrite looks silver, which run like clear streams in a field of blue.
