June 2025 - COOL OFF IN GLOBE!

Summer is upon us! It's a great time to beat the heat and come visit us in Globe, where our temps. average about 10 degrees cooler than Phoenix. Hot afternoons are always great times to get out of the sun and shop!

Father's Day is right around the corner – Sunday, June 15! Be sure to stop in to the Pickle Barrel to find the perfect gift.

If you're looking to dress up Dad's wardrobe, peruse our selection of Stetson hats or sterling silver bolo ties!

Our gallery cases also feature men's rings, belt buckles, and other accessories!

If you're looking for a more utilitarian gift this year, consider our full-selection of Pendleton coffee mugs and pocket knives, walking sticks, wallets, or cocktail-making sets.

If Dad is the chef in the house, we've got you covered!

REMINDER TO VISITORS FROM THE PHOENIX DIRECTION:

Road closures on Highway 60 are every Tuesday-Thursday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m between Miami and Superior (get updates here and here.) The highway is open before and after those times. During those times, drivers can use alternate routes: Highway 77 to Highway 177 (adds an extra 30 minutes travel each way), Highway 188 to Highway 87 (adds about an extra hour travel each way), or, if you are feeling especially adventurous, you can use the infamous Apache Trail (adds roughly 1.5 hours extra travel each way).

Cool Off While Your Here

Looking to cool off after shopping with us? Make a stop at Waggin' Vineyard, just three minutes away, for a cold sangria or glass of white wine. Or, for non-alcoholic options, try Vide E Caffe, which offers smoothies and iced coffee drinks, or Nurdberger for a quality milkshake or Italian soda!

Here for the Weekend?

*Spend some time in the pines! The Pinal Mountains are one of our favorite best-kept secrets. Just two miles from the Pickle Barrel lies Icehouse CCC Campground, a day-use site (no fees required) which makes a nice picnicking spot and is also the meeting point of several trailheads that lead up into the mountains.

*If you're looking for some time in the water, a quick 30-minute drive out of Globe leads to Roosevelt Lake, a 21,500-acre lake with breathtaking views and mountains in all directions. The lake is popular for sightseeing, boating, swimming, fishing, picnicking, and camping. Roosevelt Marina includes a waterfront restaurant and convenience store.

NEARBY LOCAL EATS

*We are famous for our Sonoran-style Mexican restaurants! El Ranchito, La Casita, and Chalo's are all just minutes from us!

*NurdBerger: Offers burgers, sandwiches, rice bowls, fries, etc.

*Bravo: Offers wood-fired pizza and Italian-American cuisine

*Bloom: Offers Asian-fusion menu and fresh sushi

*Salinas's Smoke Street is one of our newest restaurants in town and loved for wood-smoked barbeque and Tex-Mex options!
