The Tohono O’odham Nation is well known for its basket weaving skills. When the horse was introduced by the Spanish, they eventually started to weave miniature baskets out of the tail hair. The coil technique, which is used to make bigger baskets, is used to create these miniature baskets, but instead of using plants, they use horse hair. Notice the size of these baskets and their ornate detail for something so tiny. They are a wonderful conversation starter and will be a unique addition to your home.
