Tarahumara Clay Pot w/Rawhide & Stand
The Tarahumara or Raramuri are a Native American tribe that live in the Western Sierra Madre mountains of Mexico. Their pottery is handmade with clay, using the pinch and coil method. They coil clay into the shape of the vessel and then smooth it out on the inside and outside with a piece of wood or rock. The pots are then bound in pieces of rawhide. This type of pottery is perfect for homes with Southwestern themes. It is rustic and western looking.
