Description
Stamped Sterling Silver Concho Belt. Vintage. Made with leather.
Concho is believed to be derived from the Spanish word concha, which means “conch” or “seashell.” Conchos did not simply decorate saddles and bridles, but also bolo ties, belts, chaps, and pendants. Concho belts are often attributed to the Navajo (Diné) and Zuni tribes in the Southwest United States. Additionally, it is believed that Spanish, Mexicans, and other people native to the area played an important role in the development of the Concho belt.
